We were recently contacted by an individual with responsibility for an
extensive collection of tens of thousands of items, which had been amassed
over several decades of avid collecting done all over the world.
This individual wished to sell many of these items on eBay, which required
them to be priced, photographed, have descriptions written and then catalogued
in a database. Of course, these items then had to be posted to eBay, but mistakes were often made when the data was manually transferred
from the database to eBay's posting pages. |
We created a database and Windows application that allowed our client
to trackand manage the items being sold on eBay. Images of the collectibles
can be posted to a server and then are compressed and downloaded into
the application for easy viewing and approval.
In addition, we used eBay's .Net Software Development Kit to integrate
the application into the eBay site,
which allows for fast and virtually
error-free item posting. Future enhancements include integrating buyer
information into the database so that our client can produce reports on
what items sold for and when.
